Neverwinter Nights

The Clan [uBp]™ Neverwinter Nights division was started back in September of 2004 by a group of three friends who liked to play the game but didn't have a place to call 'home'.  One of these friends, 'Golden-i', had a cousin who was really into computers, 'Elwoodini', and asked him if he had any server space to host a video game.  Our first attempt at a server didn't go so well; we had attempted to install it on a dual Pentium Pro with 320 megs of RAM and 14 HDs (some hanging by wires outside of the case).  It got better from there on out...

Currently, the clan has roughly 150 NwN players in it, with about 1/3 of those being very active in the game.  The Pentium Pro melted one day, and since then we have upgraded to a total of five servers, ranging from an 'underclocked' 1.4 GHz AMD Athlon to a dual 3.0 GHz Xeon.  Of course, all these machines do is sit there and run NwN, 24/7.

Currently the NwN division is hosting two nearly-completed (75%, give or take) modules.  'Path of Ascension', which was built off of the original AW 'Path of Ascension', has no original areas left in it; 100% of this module has been re-done or touched in one way or another.  We had started modifying it over two years ago, shortly after we started the division, and haven't stopped to this day.  The other module, 'Rhun', is a heavily modified version of the original as well, but is more role-playing oriented.  While the entire list of the changes to these two modules is too long to list on any one webpage, please see the links to the left and perhaps you can find some answers in there.

The NwN division is currently being run by three people, all of whom are slightly insane... Birdman, a computer technician, has his own fan club; Oswyn the lawful; Elwoodini, well, there's a reason they named the madman in town after him...

If you would like to join us in our little jaunt through the NwN world, please visit http://join.clanubp.net and fill out a join request; we'd love to have you along for the ride!
